Job description: Counter Sales, Wholesale Plumbing Supply Co.

General Description:

Inside counter sales position for residential and commercial wholesale plumbing and heating supply, open to the public, as well as industry professionals. Candidate will possess a broad knowledge of plumbing, and construction services: extensive product knowledge of plumbing and heating parts and fixtures.

Primary Job Functions:

• Provide sales support at the counter to plumbing contractors and homeowners.
• Provide management with insights on product(s) demand, and inventory cycles, as well as dealings with manufacture reps/vendors to stay informed on up-to-date industry related product knowledge.
• Candidate will take orders at the counter, by phone, or email, and ensure their orders are filled in order to provide timely and efficient order fulfillment and distribution.
• Candidate will check stock to ensure that there is always an efficient supply of materials for customers demand.
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support to customers at the counter, via phone and email.
• Candidate will be able to locate and pull warehouse material that customers are looking for, as well as bid/quote material costs and lead times to customers for any sized construction project.
• Advise customers regarding the product's proper use. During problem escalations, act as a liaison between customers and product manufacturers’ representatives.
• Candidate will assist the company's customer base at point of sale, and direct customers to contact product manufacturers’ support information regarding any questions on installations and warranty claims.

Required Skills:

• Strong understanding of plumbing industry specific product knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Solid experience in problem analysis and resolution of product fulfillment and warranty problems.
• Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment.

• Sales support to help end users select optimal products that meet or exceed expectations for the intended products usage, dimensions, as well as lead times/scheduling needs.
• Strong verbal communication skills.

Desired Skills:
Experience with Plumbing and HVAC products, as well as scheduling of materials during the construction process, and product knowledge in terms of usage and warranties.

Experience:
2+ years of plumbing industry experience, related to plumbing and HVAC products.

Education:
HS Diploma
