About this job
The
Historical Society of Western Virginia seeks an Education Coordinator to
provide programming and presentations to school children that reinforce
Virginia's Standards of Learning in History and Social Studies. Using artifacts
and materials from collections of both the O. Winston Link and History Museum
of Western Virginia, the Coordinator will develop, present and evaluate these
programs collecting feedback data. Some classes need to combine history and
photography.
Candidate
should have knowledge and experience of good teaching practices, familiarity
with Virginia's Standards of Learning; practice in developing and implementing
curriculum. Position requires a B.A./B.S. degree in History, Education,
Archaeology or related liberal arts studies.
