Supervisor - Full-time

DEPARTMENT:   Management POSITION:   Supervisor REPORTS TO:   General Manager   OVERALL FUNCTION OF THIS POSITON:  The Supervisor will provide leadership throughout the store to ensure that all associates are trained and well-versed on all store services procedures, policies and programs related to merchandise movement and front and back end store operation.   Has ownership of the implementation and execution of programs and procedures that support the operation of the store.Responsible for addressing, monitoring, and implementing time & attendance in Workday for hourly associatesResponsible for developing associates and making sure that they receive timely and effective training and on-going verbal and written communication on execution of store operations.   JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations that relate to operating the store.  These responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Management of IPA, OFS, front-end, and receiving associates, to include recruiting/on-boarding, management, scheduling, and performance management (associate performance notices/performance discussion tracking forms).Management and thorough knowledge of the POS system in stores, to include cashier training, auditing, loss prevention, receiving, cycle counts, RTV's, transfers, and other merchandise movement both internally & externally.Responsible for knowing and training new & existing associates on programs related to merchandise movement, counts inventory adjustments, loss prevention, front & back end processes.The Supervisor must also be capable of motivating him/her self as well as other associates to accomplish these goals and objectives with a high sense of urgencyIn the absence of a General Manager, the Supervisor acts as the General Manager of the store.   JOB RELATIONSHIPS:  This position reports to the General Manager and has direct responsibility over the Front End and Back-end of store including Receiving, OFS, and IPA associates.The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that procedures and programs, that support store operations, are implemented consistently. Responsible for partnering with fellow members of the leadership team to ensure the execution of company initiatives, programs, and processes to develop associates, cultivate customers, and provide every customer with a world class shopping experience.         JOB REQUIREMENTS:   Education:  The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a G.E.D. or high school diploma.   Experience:  Two (2) years of experience in sales, management and associate development   Skills:    Communication:  Strong listening and interpersonal skills.  Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to communicate cross-functionally.  Must be able to communicate expectations and standards to inspire implementation and consistent execution of company programs and standards.Analytical:  Must have strong strategic skills and the ability to effectively forecast business needs and develop comprehensive solutions to complex problems.  Must be able to identify opportunities and develop strategies, programs, and solutions to increase sales and strengthen operational processes.Computer:  Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook and the Internet. Organization:  Must have the ability to organize multiple priorities to ensure that resources are properly allocated to meet objectives.  The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining an updated calendar to ensure that key timelines are followed and deadlines are met.  Must have strong organizational and intuitive skills, with the ability to make sound decisions without direct supervision and be able to multitask.   Physical Requirements:  Must be able to stand for extended periods of time, walk up and down a ladder, move throughout the store, and lift a 30 lb. box overhead.   Other:  Must be able to accommodate a typical retail schedule and work a flexible work week and work nights and weekends.  May need to be relocatable for the company needs.           The Orlando Sentinel.
