Chesterfield County is
seeking a part-time Network Analyst.
This position is responsible for construction project support,
implementation, configuration, maintenance, monitoring and support of the
county's network environment. This includes providing support activities
such as installation of network equipment in data racks, escort services for
vendors, equipment maintenance such as upkeep of data closets, and structured
cabling in MDF and IDF closets. Issuing service requests for wiring work
and working with the wiring technician for cable installation. Support of
the LAN, WAN (ISDN, TLS, MPLS, Metro-E), wireless networks, Cisco switches and
routers, VPN, IPS, firewalls, campus infrastructure, NAT, QoS, filtering and
ACL. This position provides direct support to the customer departments as
well as all functional areas within IST. This position will be
responsible for assisting network engineers with day to day operations of
managing and maintaining the network. Perform other work as

Must maintain personal mobile technology as a condition of employment.
Successful
candidate will possess a college degree
and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training
and experience. Basic knowledge of Cisco switches and routers, LAN, WAN
technologies. Campus cabling infrastructure for CAT5e and CAT6,
installation and termination as well as outside plant for fiber and
copper. Basic knowledge of wireless 802.11 technologies. Working
knowledge of TCP/IP model, IP protocols, Microsoft Office products.
Ability to build and maintain documentation and manage help-desk incidents for
network related issues. Good
driving record required. Must not reflect a total of six or more demerit
points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or
one major violation within the preceding thirty-six months.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree
verification required. This position is subject to working in high
security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal
Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore
requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background
