RN/LPN Evenings with Cont. Sign on Bonus. Description 1.Assess, plans, implement, and evaluates nursing care of each Health Center resident. 2.Responds to emergency needs of residents and employees. Makes proper referrals. 3.Administers injections as ordered; assures administration of other medications as ordered. 4.Assesses residents potential needs, makes necessary referrals; provides specific nursing care as required to promote the highest quality of life. 5.Communicates with physicians, staff, residents, and resident's significant others, and the interdisciplinary team, to facilitate continuity of care. 6.Assures that daily documentation of care given and other pertinent information is completed in a timely manner. 7.Supervises performance of CNA's, CMA's, and Restorative Aides; provides needed instruction and counseling for improvement of their performance. These may include, coaching, verbal, written warnings and may assist with annual performance appraisals for the subordinate staff. 8.Practices universal precautions and infection control. 9.Assures proper response of personnel to fire and safety events. 10.Maintains and upgrades skills in nursing practice, leadership, and management. 11.Attends and conducts in-services at their own discretion based upon staff need and personal need or at the request of the Director of Nursing. 12.Delegates non-licensed duties as needed. 13.Sets and reviews priorities in response to situation and ongoing change/evaluation. 14.Demonstrates effective leadership skills by participation as team leader. 15.Demonstrates flexibility and dependability in job assignments. 16.Performs ancillary duties as needed (cart count, cleaning, re-stocking,etc.) 17.Seeks clinical learning experience on the unit. 18.Reads, follows, and ensures compliance of new and existing procedures, policies, and unit changes. 19.Attends mandatory company sponsored in-services. 20.Is aware of the responsibilities of a licensed nurse. 21.Acts as a preceptor to other nursing staff and members of the interdisciplinary team. 22.Performs monthly assessments/summaries as assigned by DON. 23.Performs outgoing assessments on residents in AL and IL as needed. 24.Performs treatments on residents as necessary. 25.Records supplies used for residents so proper charges are done. 26.Performs diabetic finger sticks accurately/maintains diabetic flow sheets. 27.Maintains behavior assessment sheets accurately. 28.Interacts and communicates with fellow staff in a way that promotes a harmonious and cooperative working environment. 29.Complies with all safety rules and regulations. Follows proper safety procedure and utilizes proper protective equipment at all times. 30.Adheres to University Village Attendance Policy. 31.Represents University Village in a proper and professional manner by demonstrating and promoting compliance with the Quality First Customer Service Standards. 32.Performs other necessary duties as assigned. 33.Initiate temp care plan on admission. 34.Implement care directly from care plans coordinated from MDS Coordinator. Qualifications Education: •Graduation from accredited School of Nursing Current licensed in the State of Oklahoma. Experience: •Previous experience as practicing nurse, post graduation, preferably in geriatrics. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: •Highly developed interpersonal skills. •Strong written and oral communications skills. •Multi-tasked oriented. •Ability to be on time for work. •Works effectively under pressure and on short deadlines. •Demonstrates effective organizational skills. •Exhibits maturity and the ability to deal efficiently and professionally with residents and staff. •Demonstrates a "customer first" approach to problem solving.
