School Bus Monitor

SCHOOL BUS MONITOR Salary:   $11.96 per hour - commensurate with experience   Terms/Benefits: 2017-2018 School Year6.0 or more hours per day, 10 month position Retention stipends availableMajor medical, hospitalization, dental, income protection, and term life                   Qualifications & Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent.Must be 18 years of age.Experience working with children with special needs is desirable.Current CPR and First Aid certification. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.Knowledge and understanding of children with special needs.Ability to operate specialized equipment such as wheelchairs, hydraulic lifts, etc.Ability to react professionally for the safety of the students in the event of an emergency.Ability to apply common sense understanding to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations.Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.Ability to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional response.Skills in stress management.
