Clinical Pharmacy Operations Supervisor

Graduate of an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy; Active Registered Pharmacist in the State of Louisiana and in good standing with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy; Doctor of Pharmacy Pharm.D. is desired, but Clinically Oriented masters and/or 5 years of post-graduate clinical experience is acceptable; Successful completion of a Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program or at least 5 years experience in institutional clinical pharmacy and at least 3 years supervisory experience, with emphasis on personnel training, education, and formulary management and medication safety is desired; Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirement relative to their age-specific needs, and to provide for the care needed as described in the departments policies and procedures. The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor shall assist in the overall management and operations of the department, and may assume the operational duties of the Director in his/her absence. Facilitates the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes through safe, cost-effective drug therapies. This includes knowledge of institutional practice, regulatory and accreditation requirements, and medication safety principles. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span an possess the ability to assess and evaluate date reflective of the patient's status and interpret information needed to identify each patient's requirement relative to their age-specific needs, and to provide care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures. Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations and thorough knowledge of regulatory standards from accrediting bodies is a must. Experience or training in patient medication safety theory preferred.
