We are looking for a reliable Maintenance Manager to oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the company's facility.  As a maintenance manager, you need a solid understanding of dairy and beverage manufacturing.  Organizational Structure and Working Relationships. The employee reports directly to the Director of Operations and works closely with all plant personnel, customers, outside vendors, and regulatory agency personnel.  AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:   With the assistance of the union chief engineer, perform all management functions for the maintenance engineering staff.  This includes but is not limited to scheduling, staffing levels, training, discipline, and employee evaluations.Should have basic PC skills—Word and Excel at a minimum.  Knowledge of MP2 desirable.While the manager is not normally working directly on equipment, he or she should have good knowledge of welding, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration systems, and boilers.  In addition, basic PLC knowledge or the willingness and ability to learn this skill is required.  Manager should have the ability to work with and direct the hourly staff at the worksite when required.Must be able to manage capital projects.  These projects may be off the capital budget or initiated by the manager.  Manager must analyze the benefits of the project, determine a budget covering all the costs associated with the project, work with upper management to approve the project, and implement the project taking responsibility for keeping the project within the approved funds.  Responsibilities include bidding the work to qualified vendors, recommending the most cost effective proposal, and issuing purchase orders.Supervise the purchase of parts and supplies.  Evaluated proper stocking levels of replacement parts.  Evaluate vendors for parts and services and keep a list of qualified vendors. Knowledge of the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance and SQF programs and ability to understand specific customer requirements.  Work with Production Management to keep the plant current on all programs.Knowledge or ability to learn and understand the variety of governmental regulations required of a plant.  These include but are not limited to Storm Water, AQMD, Sewer discharge, Freon control and reporting, and Ammonia regulations.Oversee plant maintenance and repairs and determine daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance needs on equipment and schedule the work on a timely basis.  Work with plant production staff to coordinate sanitary maintenance and mechanical maintenance.  Work with plant production staff to provide and schedule the necessary downtime to perform the needed work keeping the lost production time to a minimum.Oversee the PM program utilizing MP2 and ensure all timelines and programs are adhered to. Need to develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation.Must have a solid understanding of OSHA and other necessary regulations involving facility safetyConduct plant inspections with the expectations to find shortfall or areas for improvement and resolve the issues.Come up with a monthly maintenance monthly budget including the scheduling of TetraPak servicesWorking with the Operations crew to increase productivity – line efficiencyAssign work.  Supervise and evaluate the performance of all maintenance department personnelAssist in preparing the annual budget.  Monitor monthly expensesConduct and assist and grievance hearings and other employee disciplineCoordinate maintenance needs with other company facilitiesPromote and monitor the safety programsAssist in establishing company quality standardsAssist as needed with facility securityPerform other duties as required.   Maintenance Manager Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field required 10+ years' experience in maintenance management. Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic and mechanics systems.
