Certified Medical Coder and Biller Specialist - Full-time

CNC seeking a Certified Medical Coder and Biller Specialist for in office position. Responsible for coding hospital consults, office visits and surgeries that are elective and emergent. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Understands how to apply CPT, ICD-10, including CCI edits.Link appropriate ICD -10 and CPT codes to the services rendered.Responsible for selecting appropriate services and diagnosis codes for proper billing and reporting of services performed.Work with providers to ensure proper coding and documentation of services rendered.Work with Medical Billing Specialist on any claims that have denied or require additional follow-up.Research all coding problems and resolve with effective and appropriate solution.Make sure prior to billing that all surgeries are authorized with the appropriate documentation.Make sure proper documentation is in chart.Modifier usage knowledgeKnowledge of carrier procedures and guidelines.Detail-orientated with strong written and verbal communication skills.Problem solving ability.Performs other related duties. Completion of an accredited coding program and certification is required, experience specializing in neurosurgery is preferred.
