COMMUNITY RELATIONS MANAGER

 

This position is Full Time (40 hours/week)

 

We are looking for an energetic, sales-oriented individual to market and promote our non-medical, in-home care services for seniors and build business relationships with all the facilities in our community, including hospitals, nursing home/rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, adult daycare, hospice, etc. This individual will actively participate and represent Home Instead Senior Care in community networking events focusing on seniors, such as the Councils on Aging, Bristol Networking Group, Dementia Friendly Fall River, Southeast Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Partnership, 4C Southcoast Collaborative, estate planning/elder law organizations, etc. The ideal candidate thrives on being a “people person” and someone who enjoys building and nurturing an extensive network of community contacts to advance Home Instead Senior Care’s reputation as the preferred senior care services provider to all facilities in our community.    

 

Primary Duties:

  • Establish and nurture professional relationships with all the key staff at each of our community facilities.
  • Responsible for acquiring and managing 40-45 key facility accounts.
  • Meet with facility contacts monthly to discuss their priorities and how we can assist them.
  • Participate in all senior care and other networking events in our community to represent and promote our services. This may require attending evening and weekend events.
  • Respond to service inquiries from facilities, if the Director or Owner are not available.
  • Conduct care consultations with facilities and potential clients and family members regarding their needs and provide solutions in the form of a service plan, while maintaining closing goal and new customer acquisition goals.
  • Review the Services Agreement with new service prospects, have them execute the Agreement and collect the service deposit at closing.
  • Enter new clients into computer, and work with the Director of Client Care Services and Scheduling to ensure services begin and continue in accordance with our commitment to our clients in facilities.
  • Follow up on all care consultations that become a new client, to confirm that essential tasks are complete to begin service.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and a consistent follow-up schedule with potential clients and families who have yet to commit to service.
  • Maintain ongoing communication about each referral client with the facility contacts.
  • Visit facility clients at least once a month. High maintenance facility clients are to be visited weekly.
  • Work with other team members to coordinate and ensure that the client’s care is fully compliant with their Services Agreement.
  • Conduct client/CAREGiver introductions for every new client/CAREGiver shift.
  • Create and maintain client records daily to ensure the most current client information.
  • Recognize and pursue opportunities to modify service plans to best support the ongoing needs of clients through our Quality Assurance program.
  • Educate clients, families, CAREGivers and office about community resources available.
  • Provide onsite training to CAREGivers so clients continue to receive the highest quality care.
  • Provide weekly updates of activities to Director of Client Care Services.
  • Consult with Director of Client Care Services on any quality assurance concerns as required.
  • Ensure open and effective communication with clients, family members, facility contacts, franchise owner, colleagues and CAREGivers.
  • Participate in all franchise meetings.
  • Seek testimonials and encourage PEAQ program from clients/families.

Position Requirements:

  • Enjoy cold-calling into new facilities and building a network of facility and community contacts.
  • Outgoing and engaging personality.
  • Ability to establish good working relationships with facility contacts, senior care industry contacts, and facility clients in the community.
  • Prior experience working with facilities would be an asset, but not required.
  • Possess knowledge of the issues that seniors confront, as well as the senior care industry.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, time-management skills and the ability to listen effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality of information and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills is essential, as well as sound judgment and good decision-making.
  • Must demonstrate discretion, integrity, and fair-mindedness consistent with company standards, practices, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize daily, monthly and yearly work.
  • Must always present a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Word and Excel and the ability to acquire additional computer skills.
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends as required.
  • This individual must understand and uphold the policies and procedures established by Home Care for Seniors Massachusetts, Inc., (d.b.a. an independently owned and operated Home Instead Senior Care franchise).
  • Ability to lift 25lbs.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

  • This is a non-medical position. However, applicants with experience working with the elderly, working at a nursing home, assisted living facility, adult daycare or hospital, a retired nurse or CNA would be an asset.
