Wellness Benefits Analyst

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The primary purpose of this role is to partner with senior members of the benefits department to perform a variety of support activities in the administration of the group benefit programs. This includes responsibility for plan design, research and analysis, vendor relations, benefit systems, and plan implementations. This role will proactively partner with the Director, Group Benefits Analysts, and benefits team on strategy development and execution.

RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS:
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with vendors, brokers, consultants, and internal resources to ensure that benefit plans are compliant, competitive, and cost effective
  • Engages analytical expertise, problem-solving skills, and compulsive curiosity to identify problems and offer up solutions to solve population health problems
  • Provides analytical support to help ensure that all plans and programs are aligned with corporate and HR strategies
  • Partners with finance, risk, safety, legal, benefits administration, payroll and other internal and external stakeholders on process and policy oversight to ensure accurate reporting of benefits
  • Administers health and wellness programs to all Lowe's employees, delivering outstanding customer service to employees, HR business partners, and managers
  • Participates in research of best practices to identify and resolve complex benefits related issues and to evaluate emerging trends, staying apprised of market advancements
  • Conducts benchmarking analysis and benefit program comparisons under the direction of the Benefits Director
  • Provides health and wellness subject matter expert support to the management team, HR business partners, and other related businesses
  • Acts as project manager for benefit projects (i.e. open enrollment, system implementations, upgrades, wellness events, seasonal challenges and programs, etc.)
  • Advises employees on benefits related issues as well as communicating features of programs and plan design
  • Tests compliance with federal and state laws by interpreting regulations to ensure administration of benefit programs is compliant with applicable regulations


REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree- Business or related field
  • 3-5 Years Experience working in human resources in employer sponsor, service provider or consulting role
  • 3-5 Years Outstanding analytical skills (mathematical and statistical)
  • 3-5 Years Outstanding analytical skills (mathematical and statistical) with expertise in data management and reporting


PREFERED:
  • 1-2 Years Experience working in group benefits
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or similar certification
  • Masters Degree in population health or advanced nursing degree or certification
  • Experience working in a large retail human resources environment
