The Environmental Specialist (Corporate Waste Program and Materials Efficiency) is responsible for the implementation of standardized EHS processes to ensure that FCA facilities: understand applicable waste regulatory requirements; comply with applicable waste regulatory requirements; and, update operations to address any new waste regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Environmental Specialist (Corporate Waste Program and Materials Efficiency) is responsible to advocate on behalf of FCA to minimize the impact of new waste regulatory requirements; and, provide support to the plants on waste reduction and recycling initiatives to help the plant and company meet their KPI targets.

The Environmental Specialist will contribute to the achievement of world class status and corporate savings by supporting World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Environment Pillar activities in the area of waste reduction and recycling. The Environmental Specialist Corporate Waste Program and Materials Efficiency position will report to the manager of environmental compliance non-emissions program.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Track and monitor regulatory initiatives related to the management of waste; process will include participation with various state and federal advocacy organizations to provide a platform for FCA to comment on regulatory initiatives beyond individually
  • Educate and train FCA personnel on applicable waste regulatory and corporate requirements; include the use and entry of data in to HAZMIN, ETrack, and the TSDR database 
  • Identify, share and implement waste best practices to drive waste reduction and reuse activities at FCA facilities throughout NAFTA
  • Work with MLM and/or other corporate organization on packaging or other initiatives to drive reductions in waste throughout the company
