About this job

This position reports to the Sr. Benefits Administrator and, is responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties in support of the Human Resources department. Responsible for handling the administrative requirements of Benefits Enrollment, Unemployment claims, ACA Compliance Reporting support, HR systems support, HR reporting and metrics, scanning/filing and, other administrative tasks. Extensive communication and interaction with employees, insurance and multiple third party service providers, including 401(k) Record Keeper.

Support
  • Answers all questions, emails and mail within 24 hours
  • Assists with benefit eligibility and enrollment as required
  • Assist with HR systems support and audits as needed
  • Administer the Medical Support Order process; respond to court orders, notify carriers, enroll dependents
  • Respond to Unemployment, Workers Compensation or General Liability Claims. Coordinate with Operations attendance/responses to claims
  • Complete Unemployment audits as requested by the states
  • Enter 401(k) loan deduction and deferral percentages on a bi-weekly basis
  • Responsible for pulling and auditing reports from external systems of record
  • Coordinate and facilitate mailings of required documents/correspondence
Influence
  • Research and respond to all employee or agency inquiries regarding Forms 1095-C, 1095-B
  • Prepare special reports and research as required by Management
  • Back up for current/future Benefits and Compensation tasks/projects
  • Analyze Unemployment and Workers Compensation trends and offer recommendations/training/reporting to improve trend/minimize financial impact to the company
Maintain
  • Verify, follow-up and file/scan benefit documents timely and as needed
  • Maintain training manual for position
  • Performs other duties and special reporting requirements as assigned
  • Adheres to all points of the creed

Equivalent Education Level Required: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

Experience Required: 2 years of experience in Human Resources, employee benefits, strongly preferred.

Knowledge Required: Excellent written and verbal communications skills as would be needed to communicate in person, by phone, and through email; adaptability and flexibility to changing environment; and comfortable working in a dynamic, high volume, fast-paced environment. Ability to read, write, evaluate, and apply information. Ability to interact professionally and exhibit appropriate social skills. Ability to understand and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and laws governing our industry/business and products. Ability to develop and maintain business relationships. Knowledge of Welfare Benefit Plans, state and federal regulations, multi-state benefit plans and programs. Knowledge of payroll processing as related to Welfare and 401(k) Plan administrations. Experience working with third party administrators. Multi-tasking in a fast paced environment. Strong team skills. Adaptive and flexible to new ideas and change. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information. Proficient with Microsoft office suite; PeopleSoft experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: Sitting for long periods of time; standing occasionally; walking; bending; squatting; kneeling; pushing/pulling; reaching; twisting; frequent lifting of less than 10 lbs., occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.; typing; data entry; grasping; transferring items between hands and/or to another person or receptacle; use of office equipment to include computers; ability to travel to, be physically present at, and complete the physical requirements of the position at any assigned location.
