Organization: University of Washington, School of Nursing, Family and Child Nursing Seattle Title : Senior Lecturer, part-time Search Number : AA26463 Position Details The School of Nursing at the University of Washington is currently seeking individuals for the position of Senior Lecturer, part-time in the Nurse-Midwifery program. This established program resides in the Department of Family and Child Nursing within the School of Nursing and is fully accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education. Our seasoned and collaborative faculty work together with a network of Nurse-Midwifery preceptors in clinical practice sites throughout the Puget Sound and greater Washington State in both urban and rural settings.  This position includes teaching responsibilities within the Doctor of Nursing Practice Nurse-Midwifery track. Other graduate and undergraduate program teaching responsibilities may also be possible. Applicant must demonstrate a record of excellence in facilitating critical thinking and evidence-based practice through teaching activities, including course development and evaluation, classroom and clinical teaching, and/or continuing education. Competence in clinical inquiry and the integration/application of research findings to support evidence-based practice in teaching and clinical activities is required. We seek applicants whose teaching and service demonstrate a willingness to work across cultures and backgrounds with high priority given to candidates whose work addresses maternal-child health and health disparities in under-represented, under-served communities.  In addition to teaching, the faculty participates in student advising, clinical site development, clinical placement coordination, DNP Project advising, and connected teaching and program building with the Nurse-Midwifery faculty team. These activities necessitate on-campus office hours at least one day/week. Quarterly teaching assignments may vary but the position will require .60 FTE across three quarters; this is a 9-month non-tenured appointment for a 3-year term. Salary will depend on qualifications which include: Doctor of Nursing Practice Current AMCB board certification as a Certified Nurse-Midwife Current ARNP licensure in WA State A minimum of 3 years clinical experience as a CNM Demonstrated experience teaching in graduate nurse-midwifery program Exemplary student course evaluations and peer teaching evaluations All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.
