REQUIREMENTS
This is a professional administrative support position that provides a wide range of moderate to complex administrative, clerical, purchasing and secretarial assignments for the Health Education Department of the Florida Department of Health Marion County. This position is also responsible for the Florida Healthy Babies Initiative. The position requires the ability to take initiative, work independently, and think creatively. Strong communication skills-written and verbal, ability to multitask and prioritize, and attention to detail required. The individual in this position will report to the Health Education Program Manager-SES. A valid driver's license is required for this position. This is a grant funded position- if funding is discontinued this position may be eliminated.
Must have at least two years of experience in administrative support. Must have experience in public speaking and/or community outreach. Experience in purchasing preferred. Experience in submitting monthly reports preferred.

Provide community education and assist in community outreach activities for the Florida Healthy Babies Initiative. Assists with the coordination, planning, and production of community events to promote public health and well-being. These duties may include preparing presentations, assembling displays, preparing event supplies, and other duties as assigned. Represent the Department of Health at community meetings and events, including occasional nights and weekends.
Performs other related duties as directed.
Assists the BRAZEN sexual risk avoidance program during community education and outreach activities. Responsible for aiding the Health Educators by handling participant sign-in sheets, passing out materials, coordinating group activities, assisting with presentations, and other duties as requested.
