Job Description:

3M is seeking a Multi-Skill Maintenance Mechanic for the Industrial Business Group located in Columbia, MO. Here, we go.

Job Summary:

The 3M Columbia manufacturing plant is seeking candidates to work in the Plant Engineering department as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician. Candidates must have a good understanding of AC/DC electrical, electronics, PLC's, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical systems and be able to demonstrate proficiencies in each area.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

* Troubleshooting and performing preventative and corrective maintenance:

* On industrial process equipment and support systems, including automated equipment

* On facility equipment such as boilers, compressors, overhead hoists, HVAC, and HVAC control systems

Basic Qualifications:

* Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher

* Possess or in the last three (3) months of obtaining a two (2) year technical degree or diploma in a technical discipline OR minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment in industrial electrical and/or industrial mechanical discipline

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with PLC troubleshooting and/or repair

* Experience with electromechanical troubleshooting and/or repair

* Experience with AC and DC electric motors and/or drives

* Experience repairing industrial assembly equipment, i.e. injection molding machines, stamping/forming machines, multi-axis robots, and web handling equipment

* Experience with pneumatic pumps, gear pumps, HVAC, dampers and/or actuators

* Experience and knowledge in safety procedures including but not limited to, confined space entry, line opening, fall protection, lock out tag out, and hot work

* Experience troubleshooting and problem solving in a manufacturing environment

* Experience installing and servicing of compressed gas, liquid piping and vacuum services

* Experience with installation and service of industrial wiring and components

* Basic computer knowledge to include PC component identification and troubleshooting and use of software such as CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System), Widows office tools and PLC software

This position will require:

* Working any 12 hour-crew or three-shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift) position that is available

* Working overtime

This position may require:

* Weekend work

* Working holidays as needed

* Short notice call-in

* Extended hours

Location: Columbia, MO
