Assistant Director, Physician Relation Services       ColumbiaDoctors is seeking an individual to serve as Assistant Director of Physician Relation Services to assist in the coordination and management of the expansion of our clinical services in Westchester and Rockland Counties. The individual will support strategic growth initiatives, including acquisitions, partnerships, and other physician alignment approaches, assisting the Senior Director of Regional Services in executing strategies; and oversee operations of various ambulatory projects and vendor/consultant relationships, as needed. The individual will focus on efforts to ensure the successful establishment of new ColumbiaDoctors practices in the communities of Westchester and Rockland Counties as well as work closely with established practices to deliver a high-quality healthcare service. Acting as a liaison for ColumbiaDoctors physicians practicing in the assigned geographic region, the individual will establish meaningful relationships that will assist in ensuring the success and growth of our presence in the community.   Job Responsibilities 1. Business Development/Support a)    Assists the Senior Director of Regional Services in promoting the growth of ColumbiaDoctors practices in Westchester and Rockland Counties. Coordinates and conducts outreach to internal and external physician practices.Works with practice managers and department leadership to promote the practices.In conjunction with ColumbiaDoctors marketing and department-based marketing personnel, develops relationships with local community organizations and businesses to further promote ColumbiaDoctors practices and programs in the community.Develops and creates a process to track referral leakage volume from internal Columbia sites located in the responsible region. b)    Works closely with clinical partners, including NYPMG and the regional hospital network leadership, to promote close collaboration and improve referral practices. Monitors and reports on the expansion of strategic joint Hospital/FPO marketing initiatives to target the Westchester and Rockland regions.Maintains tracking of all ColumbiaDoctors services being provided to the regional hospitals. Tracks all activities related to coordination of services, contracting, and recruitment, and serves as coordinator for joint NYP/CUMC programs. c)    Coordinates efforts to ensure ColumbiaDoctors practices are positioned competitively to protect and grow market share. This includes routine analysis of the strengths and services of competitors. Maintains ongoing monitoring of the market areas to identify demographic, competitor, and other changes in healthcare services in the region assigned.Gathers and interprets the data necessary to determine priority areas for growth locally at the practice level as well as regionally.   2. Operations and Project Management a)    Assists in oversight of operations and capital projects at 15 N. Broadway and other future multispecialty facilities. b)    Acts as project manager in support of the efforts of the FPO, the department, CUMC facilities, and Real Estate to open new practice sites on time and on budget. Works closely with the Senior Director and department personnel to make sure that the scope and direction of all projects are on schedule.Provides support in the expansion and/or relocation planning for existing practices in the region. c)    Assists with the transitioning of new providers and practices joining ColumbiaDoctors in Westchester and Rockland Counties. d)    Provides leadership in the implementation of EPIC throughout the regional practices. e)    Establishes and maintains ongoing communications with referring providers and/or their office staff to assist in smooth handoffs in transitions of care. Collaborates with all practice and program managers in the region to ensure enhanced communication and coordination of services. f)     Maintains reports related to growth, volume trends, and referrals for the practices including downstream activity to hospital services. Uses data provided from internal reports to identify leakage and engage appropriate administrative and clinical leadership to address leakage. g)    Participates in meetings. Provides minutes and notes for each meeting, listing items discussed and follow-up items. Provides summaries and updates as needed and as appropriate. Keeps all parties informed of progress.     Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Master's in Business Administration or Healthcare preferred. 5+ years of business development and project management in healthcare required.   Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate and relate to physician leadership, business leadership, senior management team, and employees at all levelsStrong analytic capability and experience in producing in-depth reporting and management information, tracking operational efficiency, patient care quality, and provider workflow efficiencyStrong ethics and high level of personal and professional integrityMust demonstrate excellent leadership, team building, and well-developed problem-solving skillsExperience in the healthcare industry, working closely with healthcare providersHas experience with program development implementation and evaluationMust have strong organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrate strong ability to work independently, with demonstrated situational fluencyExtensive experience and proven success with formulating, implementing, and sustaining referral development efforts, and in building/expanding referral relationshipsMust have transportation to and from site visits and appointments, and be able to physically navigate access to and from various referent locations both within and outside of your assigned region   All applicants must apply online at: https://jobs.columbia.edu/applicants/Central?quickFind=165692 We are an equal opportunity/ affirmative action employer.
