The only company with a portfolio of diagnostic imaging and laboratory diagnostic equipment is seeking newly experienced and/or recent graduates for an apprenticeship opportunity as a medical device field service engineer.

Apprentices train in the Healthcare industry by receiving a combination of classroom and on-the-job training. Upon completion of the 4 year program, apprentices will have the necessary technical, customer and clinical skills to be effectively function as a Siemens Customer Service Field Engineer.

This comprehensive, multi-year program consists of technical pre-requisites,

certifications, corporate education along with operational and process training. Further customer service, clinical education, safety, and quality skills will be developed. The apprenticeship begins with the initial 6 month assignment at the US Service Headquarters located in Cary, NC with the remaining time 3.5 years aligned with regionally assigned mentors. Veterans can continue to utilize benefits through the GI Bill while they are employed as part of an apprenticeship program.

Specific requirements:

* High school diploma or GED

* Valid driver's license

* Strong aptitude for electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or industrial engineering

* Ability and willingness to work overtime

* Ability and willingness to work various shift arrangements

* Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States and will not require employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future

Responsibilities:

Assists with routine equipment installation, trial runs and service activity runs to ensure that it meets specifications. Provides assistance with training customers to maintain and adjust routine equipment. Performs routine maintenance on tools, test equipment, etc. and completes required service or systems paperwork. Assists with responding to routine service or systems calls.

Education:

Associates degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. Specialized skill training/certification may be required.

Knowledge and Experience:

Demonstrates a basic knowledge of a technical or specialty area.Generally, up to 2 years of successful experience in area of responsibility and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
