Looking for a MECHINCAL ENGINEER that wants to become a part of long standing company! Job Summary:

Their new team member for the Engineering Department will be responsible for Continuous Product Improvement. This team focuses on developing electrical and mechanical design solutions focused on increasing machine reliability and performance while striving for a reduction in manufacturing costs. This individual would be responsible for developing mechanical designs of equipment including new designs as well as improvements of existing designs along with testing of these designs through simulation, run testing in our test facility as well as field testing at customer's sites. Expect to have the opportunity to balance time spent between the office, lab and field environment.

 

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • Master’s Degree Mechanical Engineering
  • Structural analysis of complex structures
  • FEA experience a plus
  • Understanding Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
  • Previous experience in mechanical design preferred
  • Experience using both 2D and 3D CAD programs
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, assembly, machining and welded fabrications a plus
  • Able to work on projects independently
  • Able to work on multiple concurrent projects and manage time accordingly
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to difficult problems
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Attention to detail
  • MS Office experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Design solutions that meet specifications
  • Develop solutions that work with existing machine designs where applicable
  • Perform research on new applications, materials and machine designs
  • Create 3D models of parts and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor and Vault
  • Create production drawings and .dxf files using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
  • Perform FEA using ANSYS
  • Ensure that designs comply with safety and regulatory standards
  • Work with manufacturing to resolve problems during fabrication
  • Work with outside vendors to source and validate components
  • Test designs in our test facility
  • Field test designs at customer's location
  • Complete project tasks on time

  • Vibration reduction of machine support structures
  • Finite Element Analysis of high speed decanter centrifuge
  • Side by side field comparison of various machine designs
  • Wear mitigation on machine surfaces that are exposed to abrasive slurries
  • Hydraulic lift mechanism for automatic machine angle adjustment
  • Pneumatic actuator design for screen panel retention
  • Skid design for field instrumentation
  • Splash and vapor extraction cover design for industrial shakers
  • Design of a rugged electrical enclosure for use in hazardous locations
  • Mold design for injection molded components
