Mechanical Assembler - Large Aerospace

An established Turbine Manufacturing Company is seeking an Assembly Technician for their Van Nuys, Ca Location. (Near Northridge, Ca)

This is work to hire long term position. Pay ranges from $18-20/hr

This is large scale assembly, small scale and bench assembly experience is not relevant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs any electro-mechanical assembly-type functions, using hand tools.
• Able to disassemble and rework assemblies.
• Perform checks and measurements using test equipment
• Report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Creates and maintains documentation & records of work performed.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Completes tasks as directed with minimum supervision.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Use and be familiar with basic hand tools and proper use of the tools
• Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Use and be familiar with assembly and measuring tools, interpret visual aids and must be able to perform simple shop math.
• Ability to do data entry tasks utilizing PCs
• Demonstrated ability to show a strong work ethic
• Ability to complete tasks with a minimum of supervision

Education and Experience Required:

• Minimum of 2-3 years electro-mechanical experience
• Post-high school electronics education desired.

Experience in aircraft Assembly, turbines, A&P mechanics, would be a good fit.
