Technical Lab Associate

Now hiring Technical Lab Associates for a Private Medical Lab in Hershey, PA. We are looking for individuals that are passionate about science, patient care and the medical field.

Shift:
Full time, 1st shift. Start times vary from 7a-11a. Monday-Friday with some Saturday work as needed.

Overview:
Responsible for performing various technical and non-technical functions in support of medical lab activities.

Works under general supervision to receive, accessions and process specimens in preparation for medical testing. Responsible for data entry duties, telephonic customer service, ordering lab tests, preparing specimen for further laboratory analysis/testing, and ensuring specimen quality and checking for contamination.

Main Responsibilities:

• Specimen prep, processing and testing
• Receive laboratory samples and check them for accuracy
• Ensures quality control, instrument and equipment check procedures, and maintains related records
• Check specimens for contamination
• Prepare excess specimen for storage or other testing
• Ensure that all analysis and preparation stages are documented properly
• Manage data entry tasks associated with punching in patient specimen information in the lab database
• Perform telephonic customer service duties as needed
• No medical monitoring

Qualifications:

• Associates/Bachelor's of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Life Sciences or related science field, preferred
• No experience required for entry level candidates with a degree in the sciences
• 1+ year experience in medical lab, specimen processing, phlebotomy, medical assistant or related field
• Must be willing to utilize and learn new equipment and computer systems
