KEY TASK AND RESPONSBILITES
• Overall Management of Direct and Indirect Sourcing.
• Accountable for accurate inventory on all materials.
• Manage cycle counting procedures and establish best practices.
• Establish and Maintain good working relationships with Suppliers. Communicates information between the vendor and company in a timely manner. Ensures Vendor is aware of all drawing changes and communicated increases or decreases in production accordingly.
• Maintains accurate delivery dates and holds Suppliers accountable for open orders.
• Develop and manage key purchasing metrics including On time delivery, past due purchase orders and vendor quality rankings.
• Develop and utilize MRP reporting for reorder trigger points, push/pull reports and manages raw materials and finished goods inventory levels according to set levels and demand.
• Manage Purchasing shortage list and ensure material is ordered and expedited in a timely manner and communicates effectively to production.
• Initiate a Supplier Development program in order to qualify new and existing suppliers. Work with the Quality department to develop Supplier score cards.
• FAI and PPAP processes to qualify new parts and existing parts from new suppliers.
• Leads Purchasing department through identifying and tracking cost savings initiatives.
• Manages inventory levels and ensures efficient inventory turns through setting appropriate min/max levels and reorder points.
• Disposition of Non-Conforming Material in a timely manner. Become a key member of the MRB team.
• Implement a Strategic Sourcing plan and establish dual sourcing as needed.
• Identify ABC codes for all purchased materials.
• Manages safety stock levels and min / max levels on all purchased materials
• Negotiates vendor managed inventory programs and supermarket agreements.
• Responsible for identification and disposition of excess and obsolete inventory.
MEASUREABLES
• Accountable for holding inventory levels within Budget
• Responsible for number of stock outs across all purchased materials.
• Purchasing Metrics including but not limited to On Time Delivery, Past Due Purchase Orders, Inventory turns and Vendor Quality occurrences.
• Maintains accurate delivery dates with Suppliers measured through OTD.
• Employee Retention and development
• Annual cost out results through cost savings initiatives.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Visual ERP software experience, Visual a plus.
• Experience implementing and managing MRP for driving and tracking purchased materials.
• Proven Leadership Ability in a Purchasing Department
• Minimum 5-10 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelors degree in Business or Engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret complex drawings.
• Experience developing and managing metal fabrication suppliers.
• Strong Negotiation skills and Contract Management experience required.
