The Director Strategy is responsible for developing cutting edge, innovative strategies for the Business Units that will identify compelling new venues that will support the strategic goals of the business; including business growth concepts designed to increase market share, productivity and customer count while driving incremental profit. The Director will cultivate new business opportunities by penetrating existing/new markets that compliment our core businesses.

Job Responsibilities: Coordinates segments of monthly board meeting preparation or annual strategic planning by working with GMMS and other leadership team members across the BU Serves as the project manager for all new initiatives that will accelerate the rate at which our business unit adapt and evolve to the changing needs of the business environment Identify contact points within external organizations and making contact on behalf of Merchants; coordinating involvement of all other Merchant teams in initial conversations and detailed followups Develops alternate business models for interaction with each organization of interest; leading discussion of business models and identification of mutual benefits Serves as the expert on trendsetting practices in retailing, ecommerce and retail to continue to develop new opportunities for the Business Unit. Conducts and compiles a monthly analysis on best practices in these markets that can provide intelligence on adding value to our Business Unit customer. Takes raw ideas, scenarios or hypotheses and shapes them into detailed deployment plans that can be executed effectively. Responsible for identifying others from across the company who must participate in deployment and oversee and manage all elements of the deployment (project management) to ensure that it is executed according to plan. Creates all learnings form all initiative deployments into user-friendly lessons that are fully leveraged across organizations Transforms vision into product reality that is practical and executable by using cross-functional teams, resources, project management and business performance tools Prepares commendations, financial cases and regular presentations for the leadership team, Board, CAPCON, SHC Chairman and CEO, and other senior audiences
Job Requirements: 0 5-10 years professional experience in: business development, management consulting, investment banking, business strategy, project consulting Serves as the project manager for all new initiatives that will accelerate the rate at which our business unit adapt and evolve to the changing needs of the business environment Excellent problem solving skills, especially in situations of high ambiguity, eg creating multiple business models for a new product, developing financial models of each, and analyzing qualitative factors to reach a recommended approach Excellent communication skills: listening, speaking and writing. Comfort approaching new people inside and externally, on a regular basis. Experience developing communications and presenting to senior management Comfort learning about and working in a wide variety of industries and/or technical areas simultaneously, with a bias toward rapid self-education Love of teamwork, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and sense of humor Expert in Microsoft Office Applications
