The Banquet Server/Bartender is responsible for assisting cooks and chefs with various events that require the service of food groups throughout the food service venues at Nook Sports. He or she will also be responsible for serving beverages such as cocktails, wine, and bottled beverages to guests during high volume banquets.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in the set-up of banquet and bar equipment
  • Maintain appearance standards of the events
  • Greet guests that are being serviced at the food station or bar
  • Maintain portion control during events
  • Serve food in appropriate timeframe
  • Ensure guest dietary needs are met with assistance of the back of house
  • Answer guest questions about food and beverage items
  • Suggest beverage choices for guests
  • Ensure alcoholic beverages are consumed responsibly in accordance with company and state laws
  • Consistently enforce liquor laws in accordance with state and federal guidelines
  • Maintain constant event inventory to ensure beverage supply to guests
  • Collect payment from guests for beverages
  • Assist with clearing table during and after meal service for empty beverage containers/glasses
  • Clean service space including tabletop, floors, and other exposed surfaces when necessary
  • Carry bus trays to the kitchen for washing
  • Maintain station cleanliness to maintain food safety standards
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Dependable transportation to and from work
  • Language skills: Fluent knowledge of the English language; including the ability to read and interpret written information and speak and understand verbal communication 
  • Ability to fulfill the physical requirements of the position with any reasonable accommodations as necessary
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed
  • Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

  • RAMP Training certification is a plus
  • Bartending or serving experience a plus
  • Experience serving covered and uncovered food trays
  • Highly dependable with a history of consistent attendance and punctuality

Working Conditions:

  • Work environment: Upbeat, high-energy sports and event complex with heavy foot traffic and frequent large crowds. The team member will primarily work in various banquet, event, and kitchen environments that may have fluctuating temperatures. 
  • Physical requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to perform physical activity that includes moving about the work area, standing, sitting, bending, reaching with hands and arms, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing and smelling. The team member will be frequently required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. He or she is required to have the visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Lifting requirements: The team member will be required to lift, push, pull, lower and/or move up to 10 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
