The Human Resource Lead is responsible for coaching and counseling business leaders on how to maximize employee engagement at all levels to achieve and sustain a positive employee relations environment. Additionally, this position performs divers assignments, including staffing and talent management, compensation, diversity, learning and development, performance management, organizational development and change management, training, employee relations, and other special projects as assigned.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Ensures value-added deployment and follow through of all Human Resource initiatives, processes, and systems
* Influences business partners and strategies, and partners with Managers to ensure business objectives are met
* Coaches Managers optimal workforce utilization, talent management, and performance differentiation
* Drives change management initiatives (people, process, structure), and helps execute plans to address and implement
* Promotes an environment of positive employee relations, maintaining confidentiality, establishing trust and credibility, seen by employees as approachable and fair, balances business needs with employee needs, and spends significant time interfacing directly with employees and business partners
* Supports and properly applies Sears Holdings Corporation's policies and practices, and investigates and ensures fair resolution of issues with the policies and practices
* Enables training needs for business specific development, and identifies and recommends training programs as needed
* Enters and tracks all data for region and National Human Resource metrics
* Maintains Human Resource Calendar for region and Nation
* Completes all I-9 and other new hire paperwork
* Ensures all job postings are completed internally and via system as appropriate, and administers and maintains BrassRing (open, update, and close postings)
* Supports Human Resources and other teams addressing business-wide issues and projects
* Handles short-term disability case administration and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) administration, tracking, documentation, and support
* Supports and drives critical core processes (Management Readiness Reviews, Performance Management, Engagement Survey, special projects)
* Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Ability to lead others to deliver business results
* Ability to work with minimal supervision
* Proficient skill in computer systems and software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and internet based applications
* Ability to work productively and effectively when faced with stressful situations, including maintaining effective interactions with others under stressful working conditions
* Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, management, or customers one-on-one or in a small group setting, with skills in both written and verbal communication, tailoring communication based on organizational level
* Ability to work well with others in a group, cooperate with others, offer help when needed, and foster a team climate that brings out the best in team members, and collaborates and builds relationships with others to get the job done and deliver high performance results
* Ability to generate alternative solutions when faced with a problem, and to evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative and select the most promising alternative

* Ability to drive for results, and to be detail oriented
* Time management skills
* Basic knowledge of dealing with Human Resource compliance issues, laws, and regulations, such as Worker's Compensation, American's with Disabilities Act (ADA), and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
* Analytical skills to rationalize business concepts and rapidly translate them into usable data
* Ability to handle multiple priorities, and to navigate a high matrixed organization
* Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 lbs.; occasionally up to 50 lbs.
* Ability to constantly reach outward, handle and finger objects, stand, walk, sit, and type using a keyboard; frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, and reach above shoulder; and occasionally climb

PREFERRED SKILLS:
* High school diploma or equivalent (General Education Degree)
* Experience in a leadership or supervisory role

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* 1-2 years of related experience
* Up to 25% travel
* 18 years of age or older
