Job Summary: Set up and operate machine tools, applying shop mathematics and machining procedures to produce precision parts.
Duties / Responsibilities: Use basic measurement equipment such as micrometers and calipers Machine parts to specifications Adjust equipment to achieve necessary outputs Calculate dimensions and tolerances using basic mathematics Measure parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications Select, align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines Monitor tool wear and replace as necessary during machine operation Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to determine need for adjustments or repairs Set up and program machine to manufacture basic parts per drawing provided with the work order. Select proper speeds and feeds based on the material being machined to maximize efficiency.
Preferred Experience: Minimum 1 year experience programming CNC lathe or mill Minimum 1 year experience programming G&M code or Conversational controller
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred
