The Community Relations Director is responsible for ensuring all sales, marketing and public relations goals of the community are met.  This is accomplished by properly promoting and encouraging the Principal Senior Living Group vision of senior housing, properly handling and converting potential resident and family inquires into move-ins, creating public awareness of the community through networking with hospitals, churches, health professionals and other professionals in the local community, and development and implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan within company and budget guidelines.  The Community Relations Director role requires varied hours with some weekend and evening work expected.  The Community Relations Director is accountable to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for lead generation and to maintain all lead documentation and lead management.
  • Conduct community relations and customer service training with community staff.
  • Ensure proper handling of all tours and/or phone inquiries for prospective new residents and family members.
  • Plan and implement Community Relations Program that consists of Weekly Outreach Plan, Quarterly Market Plan, Event Planning, Media Management and Promotional Supplies Usage.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with medical professionals and community referral sources.
  • Represent PSLG Community at professional and local community functions.
  • Complete and submit Market Plan and Market Review to appropriate individual on a timely basis.
  • Oversee the resident move-in process to assure required documentation is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established policy and procedure.
  • Oversee the assessment process of prospective residents.
  • Meet with Executive Director weekly to review community relations/lead activity.
  • Able to articulate and demonstrate all aspects of resident care in a PSLG community including execution of resident care plan, medication management, programming for the care of the memory impaired, dietary management, and other related routine operations.
  • Share on call responsibilities as required.
  • Ensure community and grounds are maintained in good repair, clean, free of trash and litter. Perform routine White Glove Test on a regular basis.
  • Motivate employees through staff appreciation, recognition, and incentive programs. Promote positive employee relations as requested.
  • Coordinate community functions including family gatherings, socials, and open houses as requested.
  • Complete assigned reports in a timely manner and ensure quality of data.
  • Support a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, resident families, visitors, and staff.
  • Protect privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to residents, employee, community, company information and records.
  • Maintain safe and secure working environment and practice safe working habits.
  • Comply with attendance policy.
  • Maintain a neat appearance, good personal hygiene, and appropriate attire.
  • Participate in training, in-services, and attend meetings as required.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned and perform other related duties.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the community.
  • To act at all times in a professional manner to visitors, staff and residents in the community.
  • Other duties as assigned for the successful operation of the community.

Requirements

Qualifications

Successful sales, public relations and marketing experience required. Experience in healthcare or with seniors a strong plus. Other work experiences that directly contribute to job ability will be considered. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, be organized in the management of time and resources.

  • Must have earned a high school diploma, a GED, or high school equivalency or have comparable work experience. College degree preferred.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen years old.
  • Successful completion of drug screening.
  • Successful completion of motor vehicle records check.
  • Must obtain a satisfactory criminal record check per State guidelines.
  • Must have received a tuberculosis screening and physical examination within twelve months prior to employment (or as State Guidelines Require) to assure that the employee is free of diseases communicable within the scope of employment and physically qualified to work.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft applications and have general computer knowledge

  • Must be able to work under conditions which require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping with risk of environmental exposure to communicable disease.
  • Must be able to effectively convey instructions and information to residents and staff members.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and sensitively with other staff members, referral sources, patients and their families and physicians.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
