Job Description
Quad/Graphics, a global leader in the commercial printing and direct marketing industry is seeking full-time Material Handlers to join our rapidly expanding East Coast Digital Print Supercenter in Westampton, New Jersey.  Positions are available on the following shifts:
A shift – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Sunday 7:00 A.M – 7:00 P.M.
B shift – Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Saturday night 7:00 P.M – 7:00 A.M.
C shift – Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Sunday 7:00 A.M – 7:00 P.M.
D shift – Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday night 7:00 P.M – 7:00 A.M.

The primary responsibility of a Material Handler is to accurately identify, move and process various products and materials throughout the plant. This is accomplished through material handling, servicing of production machines and other manufacturing duties as needed, and requires use of various pieces of Powered & Industrial equipment, desktop and mobile PC’s and scanning equipment.  Job duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
  • Load and unload product and materials from trucks and/or railcars, verify shipment counts, condition, and documenting shortages and damage. Delivering product from warehouse storage, including racking units, to machines.
  • The ability to correctly identify and/or deliver product properly and efficiently to machines, while understanding operations, job schedules and instructions.
  • The ability to interpret job instructions to locate product/supplies and move, stack, and unstack various products and materials throughout the plant through use of Powered & Industrial Equipment (Forklift, Handtruck, etc) or manually.
  • The ability to perform all necessary functions of product handling; including but not limited to, cartooning, labeling, skid piling, processing product through wrapping and strapping equipment, assign location of product with scanning and barcode system
  • The ability to maintain a clean and organized work area and plant floor.
  • The ability to actively participate and follow all Safety regulations, policies and initiatives. Including performing daily maintenance inspections and reporting any issues of concern to appropriate leader.
  • Ability to work independently to identify and resolve problems with minimal assistance
  • Ability to complete work according to priorities and within a timely manner
  • Ability to drive a forklift and operate other Powered Equipment
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers and all other internal/external contacts
  • Ability to understand and use basic math skills such as adding and subtracting
  • Proficient understanding with desktop and mobile PCs
  • Ability to work Quad assigned work schedule including rotation shifts, day, night, weekends and overtime as needed
  • Other job duties may include maintaining dispatch schedule, checking drivers in/out, preparing and signing shipping/receiving documentation.
  • Know, follow, and help enforce all Distribution Safety regulations and policies, complete all daily maintenance inspections, and report any issues of concern to a manager.
  • The ability to change propane tank on forklift. Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds.
    Marginal Functions of Job: Light cleaning, sweeping. Using an air hose to blow dust/dirt off equipment. Change plastic roll on wrapper/strapper. Band skids by hand. Wrap a skid by hand. Un-jam a skid if it gets stuck in the wrapper/strapper.
    At a Retail, Book, Direct Marketing (DM), or Commercial Specialty plants, an employee may also be responsible for Recycling specific tasks: Operating bailer and shredders system. Changing spools of wire 50-100 lbs. while utilizing assistive devices. Breaking down materials to be recycled requires more frequent upper body lifting, pushing, or pulling for job completion.  Push or pulling empty and full cages up to approx. 50 feet.

Qualifications

Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have one year of continuous work history in the last three years.

Successful candidates must be able to perform the following: lift 10-15 pounds continuously, lift up to 70 pounds occasionally, stand long hours, use hands and wrists continuously in controlled movement, receive and follow instructions and use vision in order to identify defects with or without reasonable accommodation.

Good verbal and written comprehension, the ability to thrive in a team environment, and work independently with minimal supervision is required.

Candidates must have strong computer skills and prior forklift experience. Prior forklift experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desired.
