Barista - Full-time / Part-time

THE OPPORTUNITY

Jayde s a new curated market, cafe & wine shop opening Fall 2017 is looking for experienced and passionate Baristas to bring coffee dreams to reality at our house caf featuring Intelligentsia coffee. Jayde s will be the neighborhood s source for all things healthful and delicious; offering an array of farm-fresh produce, quality prepared foods, and an extensive collection of outstanding wines, craft beers & rare spirits.

Our Baristas should be professional, hardworking, and organized with an energetic spirit and solid beverage pedigree. He or she should possess a genuine passion for coffee, tea, smoothies, and more, and desire to create the next great neighborhood cafe.

THE ROLE

Jayde s Baristas will be responsible for performing the day-to-day operations of the caf s beverage & food programs including, but not limited to: prepare gourmet beverages, serve chef-driven small plates, help teammates whenever needed, bus tables, run food, keep the cafe clean, open the store on time, love what you do, strive to learn new things, and have fun every day.

The ideal candidate should have Barista experience and work collaboratively with management to enthusiastically serve menus that celebrate seasonality and consistency. As part of the menu, we have options for many restricted diets, including low-carb, vegan, and gluten-free options. The Caf Attendants will uphold elevated standards of service, and promote teamwork by maintaining a culture of mutual respect and exceptional morale. As this role will often be guest-facing, superb customer service skills are a must. Experience with inventory management, cafe operations, merchandising, and special projects is strongly preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a talented individual with:

A minimum of 1 year caf attendant / barista experience.

Experience working in an upscale craft coffee shop with a focus on single origin, seasonal, and artisanal ingredients.

Involvement with new store openings, systems implementation, developing culture strongly preferred.

Excellent communication and basic skills.

A valid Food Handler s certificate is preferred.

High school education strongly preferred.

Schedule that is open and flexible with needs of the business.

Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time (8+ hours).
