Purchasing Manager - Fire Suppression/Construction/HVAC/Plumbing - Full-time / Part-time

Purchasing Manager needed for a large and well-established fire protection contractor located near Mineola, NY.

Responsibilities will include managing large volume purchasing for fabrication shop.

Main functions include but not limited to:

• Sourcing materials in a cost-effective and on-time basis
• Pricing specialty items
• Analyzing system to keep track of inventory levels
• Working with suppliers to establish discounts and manage purchase orders
• Interfacing with Project Managers, field personnel and fabrication shop to ensure smooth supply and delivery to field
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of previous experience handling purchasing in the construction field; fire suppression, plumbing/HVAC or related field is a big plus +
• Strong computer and communication skills
• College degree a plus
