A Gator's Dockside host is responsible for all facets of the guest experience from the time they enter the restaurant until the time that they leave the restaurant. Hosts must read and understand all training materials as well as utilize those materials and guidelines in order to perfect the guest's experience while in our restaurant. It is the Host's responsibility to greet all guests as they come in the front door, open the door for them when you can, proper rotation of seating chart while seating guests, answer phones accurately and politely and to receive togo orders correctly and input them into the kitchen correctly via our computer systems when a guest makes a to-go order. The host must ensure the accuracy of each order as they are brought to the front door for distribution and correct any mistakes in a timely manner. Hosts will interact with guests, hourly employees, and management in a friendly, non-coercive manner to carry out their assigned duties and provide each guest with the ultimate dining experience. Hosts, at times, will be responsible for training new hosts as well as helping with the training of other support staff members. Each host will be responsible for carrying, handling and distributing cash, credit cards, traveler's checks, and loose change with accuracy and dependability. It is the host's duty to pay all money owed to the restaurant at the end of each shift and to declare all tips earned. Each host will report any guest complaint or potential problem to the manager on duty immediately and will, to the best of their ability, attempt to correct the problem. Hosts will make drinks and desserts, serve food to guests, bus and pre-bus all tables as directed, roll silverware, and clean menus. At times a host may be asked to assist with food preparation or in the washing of dishes as directed by management and will be expected to retain a current food safety certification. As with all hourly employees, a host must adhere to the policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook as well as all training materials and corporate documents. It is the specific duty of all employees of Gator's Dockside to help with the cleaning and maintaining of all common areas of the restaurant as directed by management including but not limited to: restrooms, dining room floors, kitchen floors, restaurant walls, shelving, sidewalks, windows, doors, games, ice and soda machines, drink stations, carpets, tables, chairs, and cabinets. As well personal hygiene and cleanliness is always required.
