About this job

Primary Job Function:  Under supervision and in accordance with existing procedures and systems, the teller provides a variety of service functions involving the receipt and distribution funds. Responsibilities include:

•Service members in a courteous and efficient manner

•Secure all negotiable items including but not limited cash, traveler checks, money orders, checks received, and teller checks

•Accurately post transactions on the teller terminal.

•Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and cash advances as well as issuing teller checks, gift cards and Travelers Cheques

•Identify members and ensures received checks are acceptable

•Daily opens and closes his/her teller terminal; accounts for cash assigned-received and disbursed; responsible for maintaining balanced cash drawer

•Establish new and maintain existing relationships with members while adhering to high service standards in order to meet/exceed goal of mystery shop program

Requirements

Position Requirements:

•Teller/cashier experience and/or customer service experience that includes cash handling

•Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with individuals in difficult situations

•Ability to work accurately with numbers and perform basic mathematical calculations

•Ability to work in a high volume customer service environment

•Familiarity in the use of a PC and associated software and the ability to navigate multiple screens on a PC

•High school graduate or equivalent

•Presently seeking full time:  Must be able to work 40-hours/week rotating Fridays until 7:30 PM, Saturdays 8:45 AM -1:30 PM, per branch needs.  Resumes are accepted for all branches throughout Long Island
