JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Tax Manager will coordinate and manage all aspects of the local income tax compliance and reports for select Marriott non-US entities and income tax filings. This position will be a key contributor in efforts to improve and create processes that ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information for Marriott’s subsidiaries.  This position will manage two tax professionals (tax managers). In addition, he/she will serve as a key point-of-contact for stakeholders across the organization.

SCOPE/BUSINESS CONTEXT/EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
  • Management of the end-to-end local income tax compliance process for the select group of entities in multiple jurisdictions
  • Provide oversight, direction, and support of direct reports
  • Effectively manage the relationship with finance and accounting groups and local country tax firms 
  • Analyse tax returns to ensure that they properly reflect and support Marriott’s global tax planning initiatives
  • Manage the integration of the new IP entity activities in the tax reporting process
  • Support the activities of the Income Tax Accounting Group to properly reflect the results of the non-US taxable entities
  • Coordinate the completion of all income tax accounting deliverables to ensure timeliness and accuracy to the Income Tax Accounting Team
  • Manage the tax accounting and reporting process for select non-US entities required for local GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP purposes
  • Contribute and assist in the effort to re-engineer process and document procedures crucial to accounting for non-US income taxes
  • Provide key support functions in the development, implementation, and execution of non-US tax reporting applications
  • Support the Process for reporting select non-US tax information to all customer, internal and external
  • Ensure that the residency documentation process provides certificates timely and efficiently to support reduced treaty rates globally
  • Provide support for development and implementation enhancements in Marriott’s billing system
  • Support the income and withholding tax audit reporting for select non-US entities
  • Coordinate resolutions for tax enquires and audits with VP, Global Tax Controversy, and Director, Non-US Tax audits
  • Ensure all risks for select entities are properly analysed for compliance with ASC 740 

CANDIDATE PROFILE
  • 7 – 10 years’ experience in Tax and Accounting
  • Demonstration of broader finance and accounting skills outside of taxation
  • Advanced Excel skills 
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and evaluate facts and to prepare and present concise oral and written reports
  • Ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with external agencies, hotel management and associates
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
  • An ability to work unsupervised and manage time efficiently

Education or Certification 
  • Baccalaureate degree or higher in Finance, Accounting or related discipline required
  • CPA a plus
