Position Purpose

Lead the implementation of the Food Protein Pillar strategy. Provide product management leadership in the North American region for Soy and Emerging food protein Product lines.

Lead the implementation of the recently approved Food Protein Pillar Strategy. Provide leadership for both the Soy Protein and Emerging food protein product lines to ensure profitable growth and near-term profitability (P&L). Attain flawless execution and reliable product line performance by coordinating activities with functions including manufacturing, sales, marketing, technology and supply chain. Manage the product portfolio for food proteins, in conjunction with cross-functional leaders and integrated project managers. Coordinate the food protein project pipeline, ensuring a prioritized stream of innovative projects and successful product launches. In addition to managing the existing Soy Protein business, the position will be responsible for evaluating and driving new business opportunities from idea origination through to value capture and commercialization in the emerging food proteins spaces, including (but not limited to) pulses, corn and canola. This may include evaluating acquisitions/divestitures/alliances (or transactions), industry studies to determine business expansion opportunities, analyzing operating and financial results of product lines or BU and competitors, and evaluating major capital expenditure proposals. This includes leading BU project teams through strategic planning process or transactions, as well as developing communication supporting recommendations (i.e. presentation decks, project charters).

Work closely with Sales Leaders in other regions to optimize the overall Product Line performance.

Principal Accountabilities

30% Work with Product Line Team and other stakeholders to design business strategy, vision, value proposition and goals for the product lines, in alignment with CTS & CSST. Lead the development and execution of product line business plans, ensuring proper communication across the organization and adequate issue prioritization. Lead multiple project teams that may consist of internal or external resources. Organize the project work and play a key role in bringing alignment to decisions in the strategic planning process in conjunction with Business Unit and Function leaders. Champions the groups Food Protein Strategy by supporting commercial activity in the selected ingredient spaces as well as exploring adjacent categories that could provide further growth.

20% Manage the product portfolio, with cross-functional inputs, to meet existing and future margin expectations.. Select prioritized innovation projects and ensure their successful execution, from business case to completion. Closely monitor the innovation pipeline (PPM and Project Tracker). Develops and monitors profitability, productivity, and growth targets. May prepare acquisition proposals, recommend financial and nonfinancial strategic objectives and alternatives and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans. Plans business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures, and financial analysis. Develop commercial plans in support of capital expansion or other Commitment requests via participation as project manager or commercial lead positions on those projects. Identifies, investigates, evaluates and negotiates acquisitions/divestitures, licensing opportunities and strategic business alliances that are in line with the organization's long-range goals.

15% Work together with management to outline the yearly budget targets (growth rate, revenue, gross contribution, profit criteria and food protein project expenses). Develop and implement tactical plan to meet or exceed targets. Represent the product lines in S&OP activities, assessing internal supply-demand balance and projecting financial estimates. Identify and select opportunities to decrease our risk exposure or reduce our raw material costs or costs to serve.

15% Work closely with the GTM Organization (Sales, Marketing, Technology, and Supply Chain ) as well as key customers on Product Line support requests . This will include pricing policy, general market information, value proposition and specific requests to facilitate the sales process.

Work closely with the Sales Tag to collect customer input/insight from sales and through customer meetings to be integrated as part of the product line strategy. Participate to joint customer calls when needed.

10% Work in close cooperation with & provide guidance to the other functions within the Product Line (i.e. Raw Material Sourcing, Operations, QA, PPD). Lead the product line cross-functional team to ensure alignment and prioritize issue-resolution.

10% Build and maintain a SWOT analysis and competitive overview for each product line. Develop market intelligence for the Food Protein space (including industry supply-and-demand), anticipate major changes in the market environment at the earliest possible stage to align approach where necessary. Drive the regional competitive analysis and the product line business environment benchmark. Participate in external growth initiatives (acquisition, partnership).

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's or higher degree in marketing, business, engineering, food science or related discipline

* 10 or more years of experience in any of the following: product management, business development, sales, marketing or merchandizing in a food ingredient business

* 3 or more years of business development

Preferred Qualifications

* Master's degree or higher in Marketing, Business Administration (MBA), Engineering, Food Science or related discipline

* Direct report management experience

* Meat industry and/or protein ingredient experience

* Demonstrated ability to develop new business in a B2B capacity

* Ability to manage the innovation projects, including product launches and new business development in a fast pace environment

* Fluent (reading, writing and speaking) in Spanish
