General Description


To provide superior quality, competitive value, and outstanding customer service by providing invasive cardiovascular, peripheral, permanent pacemaker/ICD, and electrophysiology studies in a timely, safe and efficient manner. The Invasive specialist needs to be proficient in all aspects of angiography, sterile preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring consistent with the policies and procedures of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and hospital administration, with responsibility to adhere to all the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.


Key Responsibilities


- Adheres to approved standards of aseptic technique during a Cardiac Cath Lab procedure, utilizing equipment and supplies in a safe and prudent manner.
- Recognizes and communicates the electrocardiographic/hemodynamic changes to the physician and appropriate staff members throughout the procedure.
- Prepares patient (preps, clips) in a timely fashion and notifies physician promptly.
- Demonstrates ability to learn and practice new techniques and equipment utilization by attending training sessions and familiarizing self with new procedure revisions as they occur.
- Communicates effectively and frequently with team members to share information and solve problems in a positive manner as observed by the Manager/Supervisor.

Work requires occasional physical exertion and/or muscular strain. Work involves several disagreeable elements and/or exposure to job hazards where there is some possibility of injury.


Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred.
- Graduate of accredited program in Cardiopulmonary Technology/Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Respiratory Therapy/Radiological Technology/EMS-P with at least two years of experience.
- Previous Interventional Cardiology experience preferred.
- Previous Electrophysiology experience preferred
- Current RCIS certification or obtain within 18 months of employment.
- Current BCLS certification and ACLS certification.
- Current Florida License: RRT, RT(R), CRTT, EMT-P, or CVT preferred.
