Cook II
The Cook II is responsible for assisting with the smooth and efficient operation of the Kitchen to the standard required by the Hotel.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
* Ensures that sufficient mise-en-place is prepared prior to service.
* Ensures that all food items prepared adhere to the standards of the Hotel.
* Reports any spoilage to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
* Ensures that the preparation area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
* Prepares orders for the Restaurant and Room Service as quickly as possible.
* Reports any irregularities immediately to the Chef de Partie and/or Sous Chef.
* Keeps all "left-overs" properly secured or use them according to the Sous Chef's specifications.
* Checks the rotation of items for service.
* Works closely with all food handlers.
* Keeps all wastage to a minimum.
* Reports shortage of china and food items immediately.
* Ensures that all machines and knives are used in a safe and hygienic manner at all times.
* Carries out any other duties as may be assigned.
* Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
Qualifications:
* Previous cooking experience required
* Culinary degree from an Accredited institution is an asset
* Experience in a full service hotel with comparable service and standards an asset
* Must exhibit a passion for food, desire to achieve perfection.
* Current First Aid and Serve Safe training an asset.
* Work well under pressure, adapt to change and perform with a high level of energy at all times.
* Readily accept and achieve the objectives of all other job duties as assigned
* Ability to operate, clean and maintain all equipment required in job function.
* Ability to work flexible hours and days.
* Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
* Constant standing and walking throughout shift
* Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
* Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
* Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
