JOB SUMMARY

Perform a variety of duties involved with food service for patients. Some duties in this role include, but are not limited to: serving meals and snacks to patients in a professional efficient manner; keeping floor supplies rotated and up to PAR levels; delivering appropriate room service menu to patients and instructing patients on meal ordering system; assisting patients and/or family members in placing meal orders; assessing patients ability to utilize the meal order system. Must be able to communicate effectively, timely and often with nursing, nutrition techs, dietitians and call center; uses computerized diet sheets; accesses patient computer system; maintains compliance with all HACCP guidelines; obtains, transposes, processes meal orders from patients and visitors via the telephone; verifies that meal orders meet diet order parameter; provides appropriate menu for diet. Have excellent customer service skills and be able to role model them continuously.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Needs listening skills and be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors and nursing. Have the ability to establish effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and nursing and be able to develop, maintain and evaluate quality control standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

H. S. Graduate or GED: On-the-job training provided. Required to complete Diet Therapy Classes and pass exams: Room Service/ Call Center Ambassadors - previous food service experience and/or work with therapeutic diets preferred.
