What is my job:

Our Nature’s Marketplace helps customers lives healthier, better lives by offering a variety of natural and organic foods, beauty products, and household essentials. In this department, you’ll ensure shelves are fully stocked while educating customers on how these products can contribute to their health and wellness. How do I make a difference?

Providing Incredible, Knowledge  Based Customer Service

• Proactively approach customers and spend the majority of time on the sales floor to help them locate items, share product knowledge, discuss health and wellness, and offer suggestions and solutions
• Familiarize self with all products on the shelves and inventory in the backroom to better assist customers and educate them on product attributes
  Support Eat Well. Live Well and share knowledge by sampling products, creating product fact sheets, educating customers, and answering questions

Ensuring High Quality Products & Ingredients

• Breakdown deliveries, re-shop misplaced products, shrink out damaged goods and refill missing items to ensure product levels are maintained and aisles are kept in pristine shopping condition
• Order products from multiply vendors using ordering machines, vendor fax sheet, and telephone
• Set up displays and merchandise products in innovative and eye-appealing ways to drive sales
• Keep up to date on the latest trends related to the green, organic, and wellness movements
• Properly handle products, use equipment, keep accurate logs and follow sanitation practices in accordance with food and human safety guidelines and Simplification 5S procedures

Work environment: 

• Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, frequent heavy lifting, shelving of product, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and co-workers. Work involves exposure to and working in cold and below freezing temperatures. The average weight range of items lifted is 8–32 pounds with a maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction).
• Work may include use of hand pallet jack, power pallet jack, power walkie-reach, scissors lift or WAV unit.  Wegmans certification required for use of power equipment
