DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Member Service Supervisor, you would be responsible for the supervision and performance of Member Service Representative (Teller) staff.  You would serve as a liaison between the member and the credit union and build an effective team that provides exceptional member service.  You would act as a mentor to assist in staff’s career development.  Member Service Supervisors perform all Member Service Representative functions as required and solve escalated member problems. You would guide Member Service Representatives in the efficient handling of member needs and accurate transactional processes. Additional duties and responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate the job performance of subordinates to ensure quality member service and accurate transactions.
  • Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of all State and Federal regulations that are applicable to the transactions performed in the MSR area.
  • Ensure that safety and security policies are up to date and training provided.
  • Serve as vault teller for the credit union as needed, which includes ordering the cash and currency from the Federal Reserve, verifying cash received, filling cash orders, maintaining full vault security, and balancing vault cash nightly.
  • Approve member exceptions and authorize service fee refunds to members when deemed necessary.
  • Oversee proper availability of daily cash, money orders, and traveler’s checks.
  • Investigate MSR losses and institute corrective flow of work and/or corrective disciplinary action where required.
  • Analyze the work flow on an on-going basis to determine staffing requirements.
  • Open new member accounts.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Work experience within Banking/Finance required.
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading other staff highly preferred.
  • A record of effective work performance in a Teller or Loan Officer role.
  • Ability to focus, direct, and delegate work activity for the MSR team.
  • Skills in managing a team to meet set, external goals.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
