Newspaper Delivery Drivers - Full-time / Part-time

Part-time Delivery Drivers

Our client has a need for two (2) part-time delivery drivers:

• 25 hours per week, usually over a 4 day period
• 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
• Pick up newspapers in Wheeling and deliver them to stops on various routes throughout Washington County.
• Load bundles of newspapers, each with 10 to 40 papers. Hundreds of bundles per truck load. Some bundles can exceed 50 lbs. Driver will be hunched over in back of truck during loading. Standby is paid if the driver needs to wait to load.
• Deliveries are to stores, vending machines, front porches of paper boys.

These positions operate 364 days per year except Christmas. Training will be on-the-job and will include driving with an experienced driver the first several weeks or until the trainer feels the new driver is ready to drive the route and truck alone.

The positions carry no benefits. Pay is $9.00 per hour. Candidates need to be able to memorize several routes so they can be switched among routes when needed. These positions are ideal for someone with a steady daylight job who wants to earn extra money. New drivers can work another job as long as it does not interfere with being available for this one.
