Jr Stylist

JOB SCOPE: Supports all levels of styling by preparing the appearance of merchandise for photo and video production. Works closely with other Stylists, Art Directors, and Photographers

JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Jr Stylist who will use strong conceptualization and design skills to create effective shot composition, set development, product styling, and propping to highlight product features and benefits in attainment of merchandising and creative objectives. The Jr Stylist selects appropriate props and accessories to compliment product line, and ensures merchandise is camera-ready. The Jr Stylist has the ability and flexibility to work with various teams/categories as needed for business needs.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Diligently maintain all wardrobe and prop areas
• Ensures the prepping and styling of merchandise aligns with the guidelines outlined by Sears Holdings within Style Guides and creative layouts.
• Uses styling techniques and tools to present the best possible view and overall look of the merchandise for photography.
• De-preps merchandise to be returned to the merchandise team as well as cleaning up all applicable props and styling tools.
• Works directly with senior stylist and/or clients in pre-production meetings, on set and follow up on projects.
• Maintains a clean styling area and manage tools and supplies responsibly.
• Remains up to date on current fashion trends
• Preps merchandise as needed
• Completes administrative functions as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of related experience
• Valid Driver License for the State of employment
• 18 years of age or older

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Has a love for fashion and a knowledge of current trends
• Ability to take creative direction and bring creative ideas to the table
• Ability to keep a good balance between quality, quantity, and timing
• Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment while maintaining acute attention to detail and visual composition
• Skillful use of an iron, steamer, starches, and a variety of miscellaneous tools to give the product an accurate style and look
• Ability to function within a team environment
• Oral and written skills sufficient to communicate effectively with clients and business partners within all levels of the organization
• Ability to stand on feet for an 8 hour day while styling merchandise, while engaging in full dexterity with both hands and wrists
• Proficient on Microsoft Office, minimal computer work or data organization

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• 1-2 years+ of related work experience within retail or photo styling
• Portfolio showcasing a variety of shots / techniques
• Knowledge of styling techniques and use of different mediums to execute client's creative vision
• BA / BFA or Associates degree in Fine Arts, Applied Arts, Interior Design, or Fashion
• Knowledge of textiles, materials and garment construction
• Sewing skill
