POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position has the responsibility and authority to, under general supervision, learn and perform assembly to company standard per build documentation.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision:
* Performs assembly operations in given functional area by following written instructions. Applies knowledge of defect awareness to identify and separate defective components and products.
* Ensures quality of product at appropriate production rate through training and guidance. Performs required product quality checks. Has a working knowledge of quarantine procedures.
* Notifies lead/Supervisor of any problems encountered. Participates in problem solving activities as required.
* Gains and applies knowledge of product assembly procedures and documentation (i.e. Drawings, routers, BOMs, etc.) for multiple product types and processes in given functional area.
* Achieves good working knowledge of tools and equipment necessary to assemble product. Ensures tooling and equipment is used per applicable documentation.
* Keeps accurate records of work performed, products produced and traceability.
* Learns safety procedures and applies necessary safety rules to work area and assembly process, including information contained in MSDS.
* Complies with controlled area requirements. Maintains work area appropriately.
* Assists in training assemblers in assembling product as assigned.
* Basic understanding of lean principles. Participates in continuous improvement activities as assigned.
* Working knowledge of measuring devices used in the work center as required.
* Meets all requirements per applicable skills matrix.
* All activities must be performed in compliance with the Quality System.
* Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.
* All other duties as assigned.
