A Cargill Metals Plant Team Member is an entry level position into the Cargill Metals workforce. First and foremost, you will be responsible for the safe execution of your duties in a dynamic industrial environment. This facility receives steel by truck and by rail from steel mills across the country, we inventory and process that steel, then ship it out by truck or rail to our customers. We have an expectation of zero injuries in our facilities and expect you to bring a behavior and attitude to the workplace that supports that expectation. Additionally, we expect that you are able to uphold Cargill's safety policies and standards to anyone you encounter on Cargill property. Finally, we have a commitment to continuous improvement in our quality and cost control efforts. You will be expected to bring your ideas and behaviors to meet our objectives in continuous improvement and cost control on a regular basis.

Principal Accountabilities:

50% Capable of being a safe operator, team player and customer-focused employee.

10% Load trucks per customer and Cargill Metals requirements.

10% Safely manipulate material handling equipment.

10% Properly identify material, follow protocols for placement and paperwork for inventory management.

10% Communicate quality and service issues with supervisors.

10% General cleaning of the warehouse and maintaining equipment.

No relocation assistance is provided.

Required:

* Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

* Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old.

* Must be able to perform physical job duties including bending/stooping, climbing ladders, shoveling and pounding with hammer.

* Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

* Must be able to operate machinery.

* Must be able to operate heavy equipment.

* Must be able to read/write English.

* High School diploma or Equivalent.

* Basic computer skills.

* Ability to work overtime.

* Ability to work holidays, nights, weekends or different shifts.

* Have reliable transportation.

* Be able to work without sitting (other than breaks) for entire shift.

* Basic math skills.

Preferred:

* Forklift certified.

* Prior experience in production related work.

* Some Post High School education.

* Demonstrated leadership experience.

* Experience in operating equipment in same/similar industry to steel cut-to-length operations.

* Crane operating experience.
