The ALL NEW AC Hotel Worcester - Opening Early 2018 - is seeking an experienced and energetic Food & Beverage Director to join the opening team. In this role you will assist in the successful execution of all food and beverage operations for the hotel, supervise and direct all property food and beverage operations, and control F&B cost while driving guest satisfaction.  The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in social and corporate catering. Primary Contributions:

  • Work closely with sales teams and Hotel General Managers at assigned hotels
  • Recruit, interview and hire food and beverage management and staff associates for assigned hotels as needed
  • Train and support all food and beverage  management and associates and ensure performance in accordance with established hotel brand/Colwen standards
  • Assist in the Food and Beverage budget for existing and new hotels as required
  • Train service standards for new management and associates
  • Set up Food and Beverage standards and procedures
  • Support Food and Beverage teams as needed
  • Strict adherence to all applicable food and beverage standards
  • Develop menus with other members of food and beverage team
  • Ongoing communication with staff through regular meetings (document agenda and attendance)
  • Ensure staff is up to date with information related to drinks, specials, wines, beers etc.
  • The BRAND NEW-AC Hotel Worcester- OPENING EARLY 2018 is in search of an energetic, experienced and detail oriented Banquet Manager to join our team. This role will manage all phases of banquet functions, ensuring that our guests have a smooth event and memorable experience.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with sales teams and Hotel General Managers at assigned hotel
  • Recruit, interview and hire banquet staff associates for assigned hotel(s)
  • Participate in performance management with associates
  • Train and support all banquet associates and ensure performance in accordance with established hotel brand/Colwen  standards
  • Adherence to all applicable Colwen/brand standards
  • Determine departmental targets, objectives, and budgets
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO) with staff
  • Schedule banquet service staff according to forecast (BEO)and service standards, while maximizing profit
  • Conduct pre shift meeting prior to all functions
  • Develop menus  with other members of food and beverage team
  • Ongoing communication with staff through regular departmental meetings (document agenda and attendance)
  • Use banquet beverage records to control liquor costs and manage banquet beverage inventory
  • Educate and maintain proper controls with banquet bartenders
  • Abide by all state, local and municipal laws and regulations pertaining to liquor and food safety
  • Manage the inventory, control and breakage of china, glass and silver in relation to banquet services
  • Receive, check and document food and beverage deliveries
  • Seek out knowledge of market trends and ideas for new banquet ideas and presentation
  • Ensure all phases of loss prevention are coordinated and monitored

Qualifications

  • 2 years  banquet or food and beverage experience (hotel experience preferred)
  • Proven track record in social and corporate catering
  • T.I.P.S. and ServSafe certification (within 30 days if certification is expired)
  • Strong Leader of people
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficient in English language
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Familiar with common computer software programs
  • Must be willing to work holidays and weekends
  • May require overnight stays
  • Some work in office
  • Must be willing to work varied hours
