Job Description

  • The DFLI will be courteous and cautious at all times while driving the hotel van, always obeying traffic laws and driving defensively and within the legal speed limit.
  • The DFLI name must be displayed in the van at all times with an appropriate message to the guests.
  • The DFLI will maintain a clean and neat shuttle at all times.
  • The DFLI will keep an adequate supply of disinfectant wipes in the shuttle from a dispenser easily accessible to guests.
  • The DFLI will keep an adequate supply of hand sanitizer, prominently displayed, in the shuttle at all times.
  • The DFLI will keep an adequate supply of cold waters in the shuttle at all times. Water is to be offered to all passengers, every time.
  • Music should be appropriate and the volume should not be overpowering. Any request by guest to either turn down or turn off the music should be honored immediately and courteously.
  • When doing an airport pick-up, the DFLI will confirm the hotel to which the guest intends to stay to ensure he / she is indeed our guest.  It is not uncommon for a guest to confuse one hotel shuttle van from another. 
  • The DFLI will assist guests with luggage as they embark or disembark the hotel shuttle van.
  • The DFLI will serve as an ambassador of the hotel and the area when transporting guest. He / she shall engage the guest in a friendly conversation, highlighting information he or she may find helpful or interesting. The DFLI, however, shall never interrupt a guest conversation to accomplish this task. Depending on the guest, sometimes the best service is simply efficient and polite delivery to their destination.
  • The DFLI will ensure that the lobby area is clean and neat, free of newspapers, breakfast items or other clutter.  Furniture should be straightened, pillows arranged neatly and light bulbs lit.  
  • The DFLI will ensure the front driveway and porte cochere is free of trash, cigarette butts and other debris.
  • The DFLI will ensure that the van at a minimum be washed at least once a week.
