Aerotek is seeing a Manufacturing Engineer for a rapidly growing manufacturing company located in the Westchester County area.

Summary of Position:

The Manufacturing Engineer work on a wide variety of tasks, including efficiency projects, CapEx planning and packaging and product design projects. They will use engineering principals to provide efficient solutions to the development of functional products and processes. Develop, evaluates and improve manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, assembly, materials, Parts fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment operation capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. The individual must have a passion for achieving the highest level of performance.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Research, identify and recommend justification for new manufacturing equipment and automation to improve efficiency and quality of the manufacturing process.
  • Work in tandem with the Marketing Department to specify the Manufacturing Methods of New Products and work on new product design using Solid works 3D modeling skills.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) of new equipment at vendor locations.
  • Work with Maintenance Department to install and launch new production equipment.
  • Write Work Instructions for new Process Equipment and/or New Products and train Production Operators and Maintenance Mechanics.
  • Specify Preventative Maintenance (PM) Plans and spare parts for new process equipment.
  • Identify Bottlenecks (Constraints) in the manufacturing process and recommend solutions to eliminate them.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality and Maintenance Departments to troubleshoot solutions for Supplier Quality issues.
  • Manage Prototype Builds and Launches of New Products in the New Product Development Cycle.
  • Respond quickly and troubleshoot production equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Prepare & maintain standard specifications and drawing for all existing and future manufactured products.
  • Assist in the selection of appropriate materials for products.
  • Utilize research, analytical, conceptual, creative and planning skills including mathematical modeling & CAD.
  • Perform Installation Qualification, Operational Qualification & Performance Qualification as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering. MS Engineering degree is a Plus
  • Possess 5 to 7 years in a manufacturing and packaging environment.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced team oriented environment and possess exceptional leadership skills.
  • Must possess mid to expert working experience with Solid Works 3D modeling of organic shapes, parts, and assemblies.
  • Must possess experience implementing automation projects and be experienced in implementing Lean Manufacturing.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills both verbal & written and experience leading improvement teams.
  • Must be outgoing, motivated, proactive and have a winning attitude.
  • Must be a positive energetic team player, results oriented, multi-tasking and respond to the urgent needs of the business.
  • Must be comfortable and experienced presenting complex technical projects to Senior Management.
  • Must be hands on and intuitive with Manufacturing Equipment.
