About this job

Overview:

Searches for, and responds to, state and local government requests for bids & proposals and administers awarded contracts.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure Medline is registered with all appropriate state/local government procurement departments to receive bid notices for Medline product line categories.
  • Search internet and bid subscription sites for bid requests issued by state & local agencies.
  • Cross reference product descriptions on bid requests to profitable Medline products. Coordinate with the applicable Sales Rep., divisions, and inventory management if quantities are large.
  • Review proposed bid requests for freight terms, bid bonds required and other terms & conditions prior to submitting.
  • Acquire documented authorizations for pricing lower than your authority level.
  • Submit bids in timely manner (prior to due date) by the method as required by bid specifications.
  • Upon contract award, notify all parties Sales Rep, Inventory Mgmt, Product Divisions, etc.
  • Make sure item prices are submitted to Pricing Team upon award notification.
  • Update contracts as needed and file paper copies of bid/contract documents.
  • Keep track of all awarded contracts to include expiration dates and/or opportunities to extend.
  • Administer contracts in accord with bid specifications and contract requirements.
  • Work with procurement offices of state and local agencies when needed.
  • Grow overall sales of state and local government contracts.
  • Become a Notary Public and get your Notary Seal in order to notarize bid and contract documents.

Qualification

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree.
Additional
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in accomplishing tasks in an optimum order based on time, importance or other criteria.
  • Basic knowledge of SAP.
