Job Overview:
We are seeking a Technical Lead who has a successful history of analysis, design and implementation in a business critical environment. If you want to be challenged in a fast, agile environment with other A-Players, then come and consider the Website Application Development team at macys.com. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Lead, design and implement both UI & server-side JEE/Java web application code.
• Participate in the full SDLC (Agile), including iterative development, estimations and design sessions.
• Deliver project assignments on time and with high quality.
• Collaborate with Architects and other Engineering resources in designing and implementing integrated, enterprise solutions.
• Work with distributed teams across various time zones.
• Act as subject matter expert (SME) in assigned business and technical domains with an excellent understanding of business and system processes, inter relationship/dependencies/interactions among system components and how things work end to end. Act as the “go-to” person on integration related questions.
• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 6 years full life cycle development J2EE project and development experience
• Experience building web applications or Rest services using Spring
• Experience with micro services based architecture, REST, JMS messaging, caching, memory management in Java applications
• Experience with Retail industry desired, not required
• Experience with Big data technologies and Machine learning tools are desired, not required

Communication Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to clearly write technical specifications
• Able to effectively communicate across teams and roles

Reasoning Ability:

• Understanding of core search concepts like tokenization, boosting, relevancy, linguistics
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Physical Demands:
• This position involves regular ambulating, sitting, hearing, and talking
• Involves use of hands and fingers for typing on keyboard and using a mouse


Other Skills:

• Leadership skills to lead technical discussions and drive engagement
• Excellent interpersonal skills
