GENERAL SUMMARY: The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible, under the direction and supervision of either the Warehouse Manager or Branch Manager, to organize the type, assortment, and quantity of products to be sold, purchased and displayed in order to maximize productivity and profit margins for the company. The Warehouse Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of the warehouse associates concerned with receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and delivering merchandise. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: Provides support in warehouse environment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Follows operational procedures as set forth by either the Warehouse Manager or Branch Manager for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory. * Assists Branch Manager or Warehouse Manager in training associates on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped. * Advises associates on proper methods and use of material handling equipment. * Monitors training needs of warehouse associates and assists the Branch or Warehouse Manager in facilitating training programs for all drivers, helpers and warehouse personnel. * Supervises and participates in ongoing safety programs. * Accurately pulls, stages and loads merchandise for warehouse and third party deliveries * Conducts efficient, friendly and timely will calls for customers * Monitors cleanliness of interior and exterior of warehouse and takes action as required to ensure standards are met. Maintains an orderly warehouse. * Responsible for upkeep and reporting of equipment * Maintains active forklift operator certification. * Accountable for accurate receiving and shipping paperwork preparation * Attends training seminars and classes as required/requested. * Ethics: Treats people with respect and keeps commitments. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * High school diploma or GED equivalent required. * One to two years prior supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution center. * Valid drivers' license. * Experience and ability to drive both standard and automatic transmissions. * Forklift certified. * Ability to lift 50 lbs. * Ability to move heavy objects (up to 700lbs) with proper equipment. * Excellent communication skills.
