About this job

The Sr Analyst, APP performs disciplined and detailed reporting and analysis. Design, develop, and work with programs and

processes to reduce profit drain exposure, identify leading indicators, and improve operational efficiencies. This position proactively

suggests new ways to look at business problems presented. This position gathers requirements for specific analysis, and presents

completed work to the business with support from management.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Sets up experimental designs to answer business questions. Creates business financial models or test plans as needed to enable

businesses to understand the value of specific promotional tactics.

* Executes concise and actionable business reporting with actionable customer insights.

* Works with team members and business partners to define requirements for analysis and reporting to implement more profitable

best practices.

* Anticipates what additional questions may be asked based on the findings and ensures data set is constructed to answer those

questions quickly if requested.

* Identifies and communicates data inconsistencies. Takes initiative to determine root cause and make recommendations for

resolution.

* Uses analytics to provide business recommendations to management and advise APP Leadership.

* Gathers data, applies analytic methods, and synthesizes conclusions into recommendations.

* Develops, maintains and enhances reporting and analysis processes to help generate profitable incremental sales in marketing.

* Prepares documentation for developed analysis to support business strategies.

* Presents findings to manager and business partners.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelors Degree

* 3-4 years of related experience

* 18 years of age or older

REQUIRED SKILLS:

* Experience in retail operations (or Loss Prevention) a must

* Must have reporting or business analytics experience.

* In-depth understanding of Point of Sale (POS) functionality

* Understanding of store cashier principles, operating policy and cash accounting principles

* BS/BA in Retail Management, Finance, Economics, Statistics, preferred

* LPQ or LPC a preferred requirement

* Investigations / EBR / Retail analytics experience preferred

* 3 5 years prior professional data mining and/or business analytics.

* Must have extensive experience executing SQL queries of advanced complexity. Teradata SQL experience is a plus.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

* Ability to handle multiple tasks with varying priorities

* Possess high level of maturity, discretion, tact, judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
